The guy that came in to calibrate and fix our Thermocyclers today could have been Jon Bon Jovi's twin brother (the 80’s Version)...Our lovely MD/PhD student kept on singing "You Give love a Bad Name" and I could not stop laughing...the tech guy was really nice and I really wanted to tell him who he reminded me of and ask him if had every gotten that before, but I was afraid that he would be insulted...

Wonder boy flipped out about this, when he saw it today. He has been flipping out about the whole situation for the past two days and our new grad student was talking about how Reagan was a great president. I thought that Wonder boy was going to lose it! While Wonder boy pointed out the flaws in Reagan’s policies and what not, Phil and I brought up the point of how the AIDS crisis was a direct result of Reagan not caring. We explained the history of ACT UP and how it got started and a short history of HIV/AIDS in the world. Our new Grad student said that he would think it over...
On a related note, the Federal government, D.C. and the Local governments as well as most businesses (including the other University’s in D.C.) will be closed on Friday due to traffic and security concerns…except ours…hummm…
